Senior Associate, Global Networks & Partnerships
Position Overview
The Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) works with a global network of partners to build an inclusive industry that makes clean cooking accessible to the 2.4 billion people who live each day without it. Established in 2010, CCA is driving consumer demand, mobilizing investment to build a pipeline of scalable businesses, and fostering an enabling environment that allows the sector to thrive. Clean cooking transforms lives by improving health, protecting the climate and environment, empowering women, and helping consumers save time and money.
The Global Networks & Partnerships (GN&P) team works to initiate and strengthen cross-cutting and transformative partnerships to accelerate clean cooking impact and scale. The team engages with global multi-lateral agencies on high-level advocacy for clean cooking and pursues strategic partnerships focused on embedding clean cooking into adjacent ecosystems, including gender, youth, humanitarian, climate, nature and food-systems. GN&P works closely and collaboratively across CCA to ensure alignment and successful implementation.
The Senior Associate will support the Global Networks & Partnerships team to develop engagement strategies, narratives, and content for a range of partnerships, initially focused on nature, climate and food system actors. They are responsible for staying informed on the latest sector developments and conducting research to better understand partner needs and opportunities for collaboration. S/he will report to the Chief of Staff and External Affairs and work closely across CCA, including the Evidence & Impact and Communications teams.
To support CCA’s partnership engagement, the Senior Associate will frequently create and refine presentations and other materials. Excellent written and verbal communication in English, as well as excellent interpersonal skills are required. The Senior Associate should also possess technical knowledge in climate, environmental policy/science, sustainable development, food systems or related topic areas. They should be able to understand the impacts of clean cooking and communicate those impacts to a lay audience.
Essential Functions
- Conducting research to support stakeholder engagement, including identification of prospective partners and opportunities for collaboration
- Develop evidence-based narratives for existing and prospective partners aimed at inspiring and invoking action on clean cooking
- Contribute to ongoing thought leadership on climate, nature, food systems and clean cooking by participating in webinars and/or writing blogs and, social media posts on key developments in the sector
- Develop and refine materials—including PowerPoint presentations, publications, and online content—to effectively engage and influence key stakeholders
- Prepare grant reports for donors, and support design and development of proposals, in coordination with the Development team
- Engage with other CCA teams to ensure alignment across activities and external relationships.

Selection Criteria
- 2-4 years of work experience
- Recent graduate of a master’s degree program in environmental science or policy, or related discipline
- Proven analytical and project management skills, including the ability to move projects forward from inception to implementation to completion with adherence to deadlines
- Strong communications skills (speaking, writing, editing, and listening); with attention to detail and broad strategy and experience communicating to different audiences
- Self-starter with the desire for continuous learning and the ability to synthesize information and respond positively to constructive feedback
- Ability to represent the organization with professionalism, diplomacy and self-confidence
- Personal commitment to the Clean Cooking Alliance and United Nations Foundation’s missions; demonstrated knowledge of global issues and the Clean Cooking Alliance and United Nations Foundation’s programs and goals
- Energetic and positive attitude
- Solutions-oriented and able to manage and advance multiple tasks and responsibilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

- Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), with particular emphasis on ability to create compelling and professional PowerPoint materials
- Willingness to travel, including internationally
