Energy for Food Security Innovation Challenge – World Food Programme
The Innovation Challenge aims to identify scalable global energy solutions to be implemented with WFP in Niger. The selected team (startup or NGO) will receive up to US $250,000 in funding, as well as hands-on support, and connections to the WFP Niger office and partners. The organisation should have an existing operational presence or be willing to establish a presence in Niger.
The challenge is focusing on the following themes:
- Energizing homes in displacement settings – innovations that provide access to clean cooking and solar lighting for IDPs and host communities.
- Energizing school meals – institutional cookstoves that effectively reduce cooking time at schools.
- Energizing farmer organizations – innovations that enhance grain processing and preservation efficiency for farmers organizations.
