User Perceptions of CRI Briquettes
The Alliance, as part of the Global Affairs Canada funded development of The Haiti Action Plan to Transform the Market for Clean Cookstoves and Fuels, commissioned Berkeley Air and the Haiti Institute of Energy to conduct a rapid in-field assessment to explore the acceptability of carbonized agricultural waste briquettes as cooking fuel compared to charcoal and to validate anecdotal accounts of the performance of the briquettes. CRI was identified during the 2016 Haiti market assessment as a promising enterprise to provide alternative fuel supply to the Haitian population.
