Project Manager and Technical Lead – Clean Cooking Policy

Job Description:

SNV Kenya is hiring a Project Manager and Technical Lead to oversee a clean cooking policy project supporting county-level transitions to cleaner cooking solutions. This two-year initiative will focus on policy development, stakeholder engagement, capacity building, and inclusive implementation frameworks to promote healthier and more sustainable energy use.

The role includes two major functions:

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for project implementation across all partner organizations

  • Manage project operations, budgeting, compliance, reporting, and M&E

  • Maintain stakeholder relationships with national/sub-national government, donors, and private sector actors

  • Ensure full administrative and financial compliance in line with SNV and donor requirements

Technical Lead Responsibilities (Clean Cooking):

  • Guide development and implementation of data tracking frameworks and county clean cooking policies

  • Deliver technical support and capacity building to county governments and local stakeholders

  • Lead stakeholder engagement workshops and training programs, with a focus on marginalized groups

  • Document best practices, share lessons learned, and contribute to knowledge development

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in clean energy, policy development, and donor-funded project management

  • Proven experience in stakeholder coordination, capacity building, and working with government at multiple levels

  • Strong understanding of Kenya’s energy and clean cooking priorities and strategies

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and reporting skills

  • Fluent in written and spoken English
