Household air pollution from cookstove smoke is the fourth greatest health risk in the world: three billion people still use solid fuels to cook and heat their homes. These fuels emit harmful smoke that claims more lives annually than malaria, leads to preventable diseases and injuries, and creates economic burdens for families, especially for women and girls. Join us for a conversation with Radha Muthiah, Gary Hattem, and Jonathan Cedar about the clean cookstoves sector, and how finding innovative solutions to replace solid fuel can not only save lives, but also promote economic growth and development.
