Sakhi Unique Rural Enterprises Wins Venture Challenge Award
Earlier this year, Sakhi Unique Rural Enterprises (SURE) won a joint Alliance-Sankalp award for their work to provide women with livelihoods through clean energy products.
SURE has continued to attract attention to their important work, and most recently have been selected as a finalist in the Artha Venture Challenge (AVC) – a national competition in India designed to identify, select and provide the best socially-focused ventures with access to mentoring, connections and funding.
These finalists will receive extensive capacity building support and the opportunity to access Rs 25 lakh (approximately $60K USD) of equity funding, if matched by the same in co-investment within the next eight months. That co-investment may take the form of grant, equity or debt.
