Mission
Home Energy has established value chains for production and distribution of Peko Pe cookstoves and production and distribution of pelletized sawdust as fuel. The company trains skilled prisoners and tinsmiths for manufacturing and distribution of stoves. The fuel is produced by excess sawdust from the sawmilling process to be pelletized for distribution in bags. The business will include carbon credit financing.

Home Energy Ltd was formed in June 2013 to function as the legal entity for activities related to the pilot project Value Chain of Innovative Stoves and Waste Biomass – Linked to Prisons, Tinsmiths, Sawmills and Town Councils in Zambia funded by the Energy and Environment Partnership (EEP). The owners of Home Energy, Ensis Development Ltd in Zambia and Miombo AS in Norway, has been engaged in clean cooking and biomass fuel promotion since 2005.
Partnership
Home Energy and its owners Ensis Development Ltd in Zambia and Miombo AS in Norway, have participated in the GACC Working Group on Technology and Fuel, PCIA forums, Stove Camps at Aprovecho Research Center, and will continue to do so.
