Clean Cooking Activities
We specialize in sales, marketing, and distribution of a sustainable and economical alternative to firewood made from sugarcane waste, conventionally known as "briquettes." Our product, branded Kuni Safi ("clean firewood" in Swahili) is targeted at schools, hospitals, hotels, and other community institutions.
Over 90% of Kenya's 40,000+ schools and the majority of rural hospitals and hotels cook and heat water with firewood. While many clean fuel companies focus either on large-scale factories or individual households, this medium-sized segment of the market often gets skipped over because of how time-intensive it is to educate customers and close sales. We aim to be best-in-class at sales, advertising, distribution logistics, and customer service for these types of customers. We aggressively market to such medium-sized institutions and have built partnerships with NGOs and government institutions to reach customers who otherwise would not be aware of affordable and clean alternatives to firewood and charcoal.
Partnership
We would like to form partnerships with other clean cooking fuel and stove providers to share best practices and explore opportunities for distribution partnerships. We would also be interested in participating in any policy advocacy efforts in Kenya.
