Clean Cooking Activities

1. Facilitate the implementation of the project with needy communities in 2 provinces and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region;
2. Providing training and capacity building for project communities and other stakeholders;
3. Building partnership with local government agencies and higher learning institutions as well as the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves to document, theorize, institutionalize and mainstream the experiences obtained from the field project.

Partnership

We are interested in partnering with the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves. SISC has been involved with similar community empowerment projects in the past, most notably in the minority communities in NW Yunnan and in Tibet, where solar heaters have been successfully installed in the households of villagers. However we have not undertaken an official pilot project for this concept. The support by the Glocal Alliance for Clean Cookstoves will be a catalyst to a potentially large scale project to make use of our proven methods and the undisputed benefits of biogas as a fuel in rural communities, contributing to the successful implementation of the project. The partnership will further enrich our experience delivering training and capacity building projects in a way that allows local people to use their natural resources and cultural heritage both sustainably and profitably and will inform and inspire the accompanying training program to this project.
