EPD's interest is to promote clean cooking technologies by helping private investors in this sector of cleaning cooking, becoming market accelerator through national campaign awareness and policy influence catalyst in Rwanda and in the region where Rwanda is located
Partnership
EPD wants to become a key catalyst in promoting clean cooking technologies to minimize dependence to biomass (mainly forests) with traditional cooking style that causes eye and respiratory diseases, and takes women and children's time for collecting firewood. EPD regroups private companies operating in energy sector, including those operating in biogas, biomass (pellets, briquettes, cookstoves... It organizes forums and awareness campaigns for the use of modern technologies for cooking including cookstoves that use small quantity of firewood or charcoals.
