Clean Cooking Activities
Re-emerging World is the Program and Knowledge Management Partner of Swayam Shikshan Prayog in implementing USAID's wPOWER (Partnership on Women's Entrepreneurship in Clean Energy) India Program. The wPOWER Program globally aims to train more than 7,000 women entrepreneurs, helping them to sell new technologies like clean cookstoves and solar lanterns in India, Nigeria, and throughout East Africa.
The vision of wPOWER India is to empower 1,000 women as entrepreneurs to improve clean energy access. wPOWER India facilitates a market based approach to connect local manufacturers of small-scale clean energy technologies to rural women entrepreneurs to build sales and distribution networks. Clean energy awareness generation is an important theme that cuts across the entire process of creating the women entrepreneur network. the wPOWER India program aims to reach 200,000 rural households or 1 million people spread across 8 districts in the states of Maharashtra and Bihar. The program also aims to create a multistakeholder clean energy ecosystem. Technology partners who are already a part of the ecosystem includes d.light, First Energy, Kirloskar Green, Eureka Forbes and Boond.
