Finding Common Ground on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation

The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is proud to present an international conference on climate change mitigation and adaptation to address emerging policies and technologies for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions and mitigation along with estimating climate change impacts and adaptation strategies.

Located in the Washington DC area, the conference will engage with the new leadership on Capitol Hill and the Administration to explore policy measures and recommend approaches for making meaningful progress.

The conference is convened as a neutral science-based forum for addressing climate change related issues such as:

  • Methodologies for identifying and estimating climate change risks and impacts
  • Strategies and technologies for reducing emissions of greenhouse gasses (GHGs) and other climate-changing pollutants
  • Practices for increasing the resiliency of communities and facilities to the changing climate

Abstracts on these and related topics are being solicited from academic, industrial and governmental organizations at the local, state, national and regional level. The A&WMA highly encourages abstracts involving case studies of successful programs and projects. Abstracts of 200-300 words are being sought for both platform and poster presentation under, but not limited to, the following topics:

  • Public policy – including GHG reduction, energy efficiency, international developments, and more
  • Regulatory – inlcuding permitting, economic incentives, and GHG regulatory strategies
  • Corporate policy – including sustainability goals and strategies, case studies, lessons learned and more
  • Technical analysis and assessment tools – including climate change science, impacts, and mitigation and adaptation strategies
  • Emerging technological solutions – including clean energy, carbon capture and electrical grid managementFinding Common Ground on Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation

Submit abstracts by March 17 to CCconference2017@awma.org
