WEBINAR: ACCESSING CARBON FINANCE IN HUMANITARIAN SETTINGS

PLEASE JOIN US FOR A WEBINAR HOSTED BY
THE GLOBAL ALLIANCE FOR CLEAN COOKSTOVES ON
ACCESSING CARBON FINANCE IN HUMANITARIAN SETTINGS

Tuesday, August 6, 2013
10:00 A.M. TO 11:30 A.M. Eastern

While it is possible to receive carbon finance for cooking projects in humanitarian settings, there is a lack of widely available information on how to implement registered carbon cooking projects within these particular settings.  This webinar will discuss the benefits, challenges, and potential ways forward for increasing the ability of implementers to access carbon finance for humanitarian cooking projects.

The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves invites you to a webinar on accessing carbon finance in humanitarian settings with the following presenters:

•    Heba Rabie (CDM Gold Standard) will introduce the carbon project cycle and explain how to use Gold Standard’s special guidance developed specifically for projects in conflict zones.

•    Jamal Gore (Carbon Clear) will provide an overview of the ways in which carbon developers approach these types of projects and will share lessons learned from their work in Goma, DRC and Darfur.

•    Andree Sosler (Potential Energy) will provide insights into the cookstove implementer’s experience, answering questions such as why they chose to do a carbon project and how to choose a suitable carbon development partner.

•    Cathy Diam-Valla (Persistent Energy Partners) will provide insights into the carbon developer’s perspective, answering questions such as why projects generally avoid conflict areas and how they adapted when a project in Mali became a conflict zone.

Please e-mail info@cleancookstoves.org for more information. You can join the webinar directly by following the instructions below.  Please feel free to forward to anyone who might be interested in joining.
