Webinar: Distribution Business Models in 2nd Round of Pilot Innovation Fund
Please join the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves (Alliance) on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 8:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST) for a webinar to share findings on distribution business models in the 2nd round of the Pilot Innovation Fund.
In 2013, the Alliance supported the first Pilot Innovation Fund (PIF) grants to finance the proof-of-concept of innovative approaches along the value chain in order to strengthen supply and enhance demand for clean cookstoves and fuels. In return for seed capital to finance and pilot these innovations, recipients are required to document lessons learned and share results to advance awareness of scalable solutions in the sector.
Join this webinar to learn more about various distribution channels tested by a sub-set of PIF Round II grantees: Emerging Cooking Solutions (ECS) in Zambia and Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy (RRE) in Bangladesh. Each worked to finalize a distribution model that would be most effective to their business.
- ECS, a pellet manufacturing company, will discuss the results of distribution through an employer backed finance & distribution channel, informal women’s groups and informal retail networks.
- RRE, a solar home distributor in Bangladesh will focus on their efforts to add improved cookstoves to their current networks and their pivot to focus on a partnership with Rural Services Foundation and distributing stoves through a network of women entrepreneurs.
