United Nations Development Program tender released for solar cookers

Simple box or panel cooker for relief camps or similar purpose, where there is no or little fuel
available for cooking. The cooker may be used for baking, cooking or hygienization of drinking
water. The hot zone should be protected from wind cooling by a temperature resistant glass or
plastic cover. Some level of concentration of sunlight may be necessary, depending on climatic
zone and use, but the units must operate without frequent adjustments for tracking the sun. The
performance in full sun (1000 W/m2) should be at least:

•    Small size cooker/oven: 1 liter of water boiling after 60 minutes, stagnation temperature >150°C
•    Community size cooker/oven 50 liter of water boiling after 60 minutes, stagnation temperature
