Resources Centre for Sustainable Development (RCSD) helps improve better access to clean energy, water, and sanitation,as well as improve food security and ecosystem services, whilst securing livelihood amongst the poor.

Clean Cooking Activities
Strategies and innovations are needed to promote energy as an engine for equitable economic growth and sustainable development. RCSD proposes encouraging energy strategies that are based on increasing the use of energy carriers other than biomass, or on using biomass in clean and efficient ways, with a focus on poverty alleviation and development based on universal access to energy services that are affordable, reliable, and of good quality.
Among RCSD pilot project sites in rural areas, more than 95% of the households are dependent primarily on fuel wood for cooking and the majority of the cooking devices do not accommodate fuel and energy efficiency. We are losing much of our environment and biodiversity due to the fuel-wood demands. Thus with the above understanding, RCSD is interested in joining the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves to carry forward the knowledge amongst the people.
Partnership
RCSD seeks knowledge on improved cookstoves that meet the energy demands for cooking, space heating, curing, and other associated demands. With the knowledge gained from the partnership, we would seek partnerships with donors to take forward the Alliance’s mission to the communities in need. We would actively promote the Alliance and work to raise awareness of the health, environmental, gender, and livelihood impacts of clean cooking solutions, as well as share experience, expertise, best practices, tools, and resources.
