Haiti: life-cycle assessment of available fuels and biofuels assessment

The Alliance, as part of the Global Affairs Canada funded development of The Haiti Action Plan to Transform the Market for Clean Cookstoves and Fuels, commissioned ENEA to assess the potential for alternative fuels in Haiti. The study presents a comparison of seven potential alternatives to charcoal and firewood: improved charcoal, charbriquettes, non-carbonized briquettes, pellets, ethanol, LPG, and solar electricity; and identifies the most promising fuels in terms of environmental and social impacts.
