Clean Cooking Activities

Agrifund International is committed to promoting clean cooking solutions as part of our broader efforts in environmental sustainability, health, and livelihoods. We support the adoption of clean cookstoves and alternative fuels to reduce deforestation, indoor air pollution, and health risks, particularly for women and children. Our initiatives focus on training communities in the production and use of improved cookstoves, advocating for clean energy policies, and facilitating access to affordable, eco-friendly fuels such as briquettes and ethanol. Through partnerships, we integrate clean cooking into our climate resilience and livelihoods programs, empowering households to transition from traditional biomass fuels to sustainable alternatives, improving health outcomes, and mitigating climate change. Our work aligns with SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), fostering a healthier and more sustainable future for vulnerable communities

Partnership

Agrifund International seeks to participate in this partnership by leveraging our expertise in sustainable livelihoods, community engagement, and climate resilience to promote the adoption of clean cookstoves and fuels. We aim to contribute through community-based awareness campaigns, training programs on clean energy technologies, and facilitating access to affordable, eco-friendly cooking solutions. Our organization can support research on user needs, distribution models, and financing mechanisms to enhance adoption in underserved areas. Additionally, we can collaborate with manufacturers and policymakers to advocate for policies that promote clean cooking solutions. With our strong grassroots presence in Uganda, South Sudan, and the DRC, we can help scale clean cooking initiatives, ensuring they reach vulnerable populations, improve health outcomes, reduce deforestation, and contribute to climate mitigation efforts aligned with SDG 7 and SDG 13.
