Mission
BBF has been involved with the implementation of the environment friendly energy technology projects in Bangladesh. BBF is undertaking projects aiming at mitigation and adaptation to climate change, e.g. drinking water supply in the coastal areas, installing solar home systems,distributing solar lanterns,tree plantation. BBF is also very keen to conserve environment, ethnic cultures and foster gender equality in the country.

Clean Cooking Activities
Bondhu Chula Programme aims to contribute to the betterment of our environment and tackle the adverse effects of climate change by partnering with local organizations, business houses, community leaders, development agencies and neighbors, creating a clean and safe living and working condition.
The programme supports access to modern cooking energy by promoting the sustainable production, marketing, installation and use of Bondhu Chula. Through this approach stove producers, installers and traders are trained on technical, marketing and entrepreneurship skills. Consumer awareness of the benefits about available technologies and access to them is increased. First the approach was dependent on Partner Organizations (PO) and some private enterprises. The POs organized technical training for ICS manufacturers, produced and disseminated promotional materials, collected orders for ICS from the potential customers and assigned the orders to trained manufacturers. The POs were aiming at building up a financial viable ICS business. Again the program underwent a reorientation process, leading to a new approach that focuses more on the involvement of rural entrepreneurs and businesses, locally known as “Sanitary Shops”, instead of NGOs.
