Bethany Project implements programs on recognizing, reducing and redistributing unpaid care work done by women and girls. Clean cook stoves have been found to reduce time spent on unpaid care work. Since these stoves use twigs they reduce consumption of wood resulting in environmental protection. Time saved by women is used for income generation. Bethany Project working with communities in humanitarian settings has development a "tsotso" (twig) stove used by communities affected by droughts and floods.
Partnership
Bethany Project will share its experiences on the use of clean cook stoves, mobilizing communities for change, community participation in the program of this nature. In turn it is willing to learn from other partners, so that it can improve its work. Is looking forwarding to getting funding to implement programs that add value to the Alliance. Bethany looks forward to being a strong influencer for the adoption clean cook stoves and empower women.
