CREAM's mission is to strengthen the efforts of the marginalized women and men to meet their socio-economic needs on a sustainable basis through capacity building, promotion of social justice and the sustainable use of environmental resources

Clean Cooking Activities

CREAM will use market oriented approach to solve the Cooking Energy needs for sustainability and income generation for the groups and refugees.
CREAM will partner with manufacturers of Improved Cook Stoves to get quality supply of cook stoves, market and sale them through the VSLA groups.
The average number of members in a group is 30.Each member in a group will buy efficient cook stove either directly or through installments which will be managed by the group leadership.
For sustainability two members from 300 VSLA groups and 200 refugees will be identified and trained on how to make, maintain and use the Cook stoves, making of briquettes as an alternative source of energy for charcoal.
Volunteers will be identified and recruited to carry out marketing of Cook Stoves in the Refugee settlement areas in the West Nile region
Demonstrations and displays will be conducted on market days in rural areas to influence decisions, action and purchase of the Clean Cook Stoves by the members and pubic.
Community sensitizations on mass media on local FM stations will be conducted to reach out to the wider audience to educate the public on the importance of usage of efficient cook.
Technical Experts in Cook Stove Construction and environmental experts will hired for this.

Partnership

CREAM will identify suppliers of Clean Cook stoves who would supply to the organisation,train some staff on its use who will in turn train the village agents and volunteers.The organisation will contribute to the logistical support,provide office space ,carry out mobilisation and sensitisation.Work closely with the local government officials (Politicians and the office of Community development Office at the sub county level) who will be used for mobilization, the Office of the Prime Minister for coordination with the Refugees, and Community based trainers for mobilization.
