Mission
GIZ is a federal enterprise that supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ operates in many fields including economic development and employment promotion; governance and democracy; security, reconstruction, peace building and civil conflict transformation; food security, health and basic education; and environmental protection, resource conservation and climate change mitigation as well as infrastructure, water and sanitation and renewable energies.

Clean Cooking Activities
GIZ has been promoting clean and efficient cooking solutions for the past more than 30 years in more nearly 30 countries all over the world (majority of which in Sub-Saharan Africa). Since 2005, GIZ is implementing the multi-donor programme Energising Development in more than 20 countries. So far, EnDev has reached 12 million people with modern energy services in a sustainable manner. Country interventions focus on strengthening local production and value chains, development of sustainable market structures and capacity building.
