Emce Development Funds vision is “To help create and facilitate opportunities for passionate persons especially women to improve their lives as well as those of other women through enterprise development initiatives.
We achieve this through our mission by:

Clean Cooking Activities
Awaiting patent approval for safe cooking stove. Have designed, manufacturing and tested stoves in our local communities. Response overwhelming. Have just started selling as current operation is only capable of producing 1 000 stoves per month. Looking for funding from Job Creation Fund to expand as we see the opportunity to create within the first year between 1 000 and 1 300 jobs from highly skilled to maintenance and cleaning staff. The stoves need to be sold with the biofuel and we are currently utilising wood pellets. Also negotiating partnership for rice husk pellets from Asia as well as locally produced sunflower husk and wood pellets. We intend to set up small businesses in local communities so as we sell stoves we will provide distribution points fir the bio-fuel.
Partnership
We have a design and engineering team who have just designed and manufactured the very basic affordable cooking stove. They are busy with designs for more sophisticated equipment that can utilise these pellets. There has been a request from potential partners for machinery as electricity costs in South Africa are exorbitant and our local power supply is taking a huge strain and will possibly not be able to provide sufficient electricity fro much longer.
Our design and engineering team can offer assistance in enhancing similar designs or developing new ones. We can also assist by providing stoves to where it is required.
Our production team can assist with skills training as we currently have employed women who are doing fitting and turning and who will be eligible for a formal qualification.
We also have staff who assist with the awareness raising for the need for an alternative to electricity as well as capacity to train communities in small enterprise set-ups.
