Clean Cooking Activities

The Glass Jar Users Association has since its inception in 1996 been introducing its members to new technologies to enhance their operations for increased income and improved livelihoods. These have included the promotion of the use of fuel efficient clean stoves such as the LPG, improved saw dust stove and coal pot "Egyaapa" to its over 300 members engaged in the production and marketing of pepper sauces, jams, marmalade, fruit juices, peanut butter and honey locally and internationally. This has been possible due to the emphasis placed on the effects of fuel wood usage on members' health, the environment, as well as the time and energy spent gathering and using it.

Partnership

The Glass Jar Users Association's participation in this partnership will involve promotion and use of clean cookstoves to members. On a larger front, members of the Association who are reputable food processors can be used as “Goodwill Ambassadors†or "Role Models" to promote the clean cook stoves to other food processors in the country.
