Clean Cooking Activities

HELP has just finalized a very successful project in Zimbabwe distributing stoves run by ethanol in order to reduce the deforestation especially around urban and peri-urban areas that is caused by the chopping down of trees as firewood for cooking.
Thus this project had a proven environmental impact already (an external evaluation report is available), but as research shows, the ethanol stoves are also contributing to the health of people who are otherwise affected by the harmful substances through the burning of wood.
Finally the project had a positive impact on the financial situation of the beneficiaries, since the ethanol is cheaper than firewood.
The stoves are produced locally and can thus create employment as well, and finally it has to be mentioned, that we have the stoves checked by the Standard Association of Zimbabwe.

Partnership

HELP has a proven track record as an implementer for the common donors such as the European Union (EU), the German Government, the Department for International Development (DFID) or the US Agency for International Development (USAID) to name just a few.
