Mission
Innovation and Technology for Development Centre (itdUPM) is a research centre that combines the capabilities of its extensive collaborative network, combining scientific, critical and reflective thinking, with practical knowledge® to look for solutions to the challenges of the lack of sustainability and equity in the current global context. ItdUPM is formed by more than 15 research groups with previous experience on: water supply and sanitation, energy, environment, agrofood, sustainable forest management, ICTs, partnerships for development, inclusive business models.

Clean Cooking Activities
Current initiatives include providing technical support to stove programs in Nicaragua and in Cassamance Region in West Africa.
This support includes: socio-economic impact evaluation, indoor air pollution measure, fuel characterization, calculation of GHG emission reduction, market assessment and cost-benefit analysis.
Partnership
ItdUPM performs studies and analysis of different key aspects in cookstoves programs: socio-economic impact evaluation, indoor air pollution measure, fuel characterization, calculation of GHG emission reduction, market assessment and cost-benefit analysis.
Through these studies (both field and research work) we contribute to ensure sustainability and to research on understanding the main barriers and opportunities that face improved cookstoves programs.
