KAPEG is a research organization established in 2004 by the team of researchers to work in applications-oriented electrical engineering research especially focused in the renewable energy field. KAPEG is an innovative organization which works on bringing new technologies and conducting various aspects of research aimed at assisting the population to gain access to electricity and other basic requirements of livelihood.

Clean Cooking Activities

KAPEG has been working on the end utilization of electricity from micro-hydro grid since 2013 for electric water heating and cooking purposes. It has developed and implemented distributed type electric heating system for the production end utilization of unused electricity from the micro hydro's in the far western remote location of the country and studied its adaptive behavior while installing the technology of 50 number in quantity in the beginning. Since then KAPEG has been continuously working on the electric cooking system technical upgrades and testing different electric boilers and cookers from different manufacturers at KAPEG lab. Currently, KAPEG is conducting a project called "Feasibility study of the different electric cooking system in the remote off-grid village of Rukum Solabhang" supported by AEPC/RERL a UNDP programme.
KAPEG's aim is to formulate the adaptive approach to clean cooking technology in remote areas of the country and assist the government in developing policies for effective movement of electric cooking technology in Nepal while performing research on various constraining factors.

Partnership

KAPEG is interested in being a partner with GACC. With the increased level of projects and expertise, KAPEG intends to collaborate with international partners in GACC network while at the same time learning from them.
KAPEG can support with its existing expertise of the technology and research projects that it has conducted until now. KAPEG can participate in workshops and conferences sharing its experiences working in the electric cooking technology until now.
KAPEG can contribute to most of the kind contributions especially related to human expertise in most forms to collaborate in any kind of projects or other activities with a prediscussion on the related topic.ne
