Mission
NewLight Africa is making a difference in the area of Sustainability, Health & People Empowerment. We serve the poorest people in the last mile of off-grid Africa in their quest to improve their own lives. We provide high-quality products, with after-sales support and asset financing options that remove all barriers to access for our clients.
Our mission (by 2020) is to replace 13M+ kerosene lamps with solar; create 20,000 jobs, increase study hours by 25b; save our customers a combined $1.1b; & reduce C02 emissions by a min of 13 tons.

Clean Cooking Activities
In February 2016 we introduced fuel-efficient cookstoves as part of our product range (both as cash sales as well as pay-as-you-go). We are working to understand our customer's needs deeply, in order to support better adoption of clean cooking technology and behavior.
Partnership
NewLight Africa is founded by Steve Andrews, former CEO of Sunnymoney. We have been operational in Kenya since July 2015 and have very quickly proven that a commercial model for selling pico PV lights to the last mile of rural off-grid Kenya is highly viable. We have crafted a model of asset financing (pay-as-you-go) that is affordable even for the poorest people.
We hope to be the implementing partner of choice for rapidly scaling-up the numerous benefits associated with households moving away from kerosene and other dangerous fuel sources, while climbing the energy ladder. In particular we can contribute to a broader industry knowledge-base drawing insights from our practical experience working with our target market.
