Clean Cooking Activities
We work on the promotion of the economic empowerment of women through two components:
1) encouraging the achievement of revenue generating activities including the processing of local products;
2) through the use of waste they produce from the processing of products.
In addition we are currently conducting an educational and awareness project on waste separation and this in view of promoting the recovery of biodegradable waste into compost.
Partnership
During our last tour in rural areas in Benin we identified several needs of clean cooking technology. For example women continue to suffer with firewood to cook meals to hundreds of schoolchildren in school canteens. Our ambition is to implement in Benin clean cook solutions especially in rural areas through awareness, education and training of populations. We will also ensure the promotion and distribution of coockstoves by setting out appropriate social marketing strategies.
