Organization for Saving the Children and Empowering Women (OSCEW)

Mission

Organization for Saving the Children and Empowering Women (OSCEW) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-for-profit and independent organization founded in 2014 by technical, professional and experienced Afghans. The aim of the organization is to contribute to the development of Afghanistan as an integral part of the international community. OSCEW strives to attain its aims through provision of humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable Afghan communities during emergencies, improving their health and nutritional condition.

Clean Cooking Activities

OSCEW aims to integrate clean cooking to advance the following goals:
1) Prevent disasters, mitigate their impacts on vulnerable populations, and respond to and effectively cope with their consequences.
2) Combat or prevent malnutrition; improve health and nutritional conditional of the Afghan population.
3) Creation of sustainable assets, reduce poverty for rural and urban low income households; improve livelihoods and create job opportunities for Afghans to contribute positively within the society.
4) Ensure that every Afghan adult has access to opportunities to become literate; all children enroll in formal schooling and provide appropriate vocational skill trainings to unemployed Afghans to enable them to take advantage of labor market or self-employment opportunities.
5) Building community’s capacity and develop a network of nurseries; launch countrywide media campaign for environmental awareness and protection; and plantation of saplings on annual basis.

Partnership

The OSCEW office is actively engaged in environmental protection and is interested in bringing cohesion and harmonization with relevant entities to eventually bring about positive changes.
