Mission
Build a world map on biomass stove innovation through partnerships between two European laboratories (Denmark and Portugal) and 2 laboratories in Latin America (Brazil and Peru), through collaboration between the Aalborg University, University of Aveiro - Centre of Environment and Marine Studies, Federal Institute for Science, Education and Technology and the University of Cusco - Centre of Development and Capacity Building.®
Work on identifying major gaps and opportunities of development for large-scale cooking stove projects in the Andean region and Northern Brazil. Open to disseminate successful experiences in other regions of the world.
Organizational Expertise
Adoption / Behavior Change, Carbon Finance, Capacity Building, Climate/Environment, Gender / Womens Empowerment, Health, Humanitarian/Emergency Response, Livelihoods, Monitoring and Evaluation, Research, Standards, Technology and Fuel R&D, Lab or Field Testing
Other Organizational Expertise
During the graduation in environmental engineering I developed activities about environmental sustainability and environmental management in Portugal (University of Aveiro) and in Sweden (LuleÃ¥ Tekniska Universitet). Since 2006, I have been involved in engineering activities in both the fields of water and air quality management in Portugal and Brasil, participating in projects developed by Portuguese companies (Group Sondar and Institute of the Environment and Development) and Brazilian institutions (Group of Research in Urban Water and Hydraulics from the Federal University of Pará and Sanitary Water Company of Pará).® In July 2010, I have concluded with success a master degree in Sustainable Energy Systems and improved my background knowledge in engineering, through the development of a project about Energy Efficient End-Use Issues (Bioenergy and energy efficiency in buildings), that resulted from a cooperation among the University of Aveiro, Danish Building Research Institute and Technological Institute of Denmark.® As a founder member of the Portuguese organization Engineering for Development and Humanitarian Aid (founded in 2008), I have been involved in development projects in the field of sustainability and capacity building in Portugal, Spain and Mozambique. In such a context, collaborations were established with other European organizations working in the fields of energy and environment, namely Engineers without Borders - Spain (EWB) and Energy Crossroads Denmark (EC-DK), in order to create an international platform for the development of energy and environmental low cost technologies Specialties:Indoor Environmental Engineering Renewable Energy Systems Engineering Without Borders and Community Building
