Sahas Foundation, managing under SAHAS Nepal (a national NGO) is in the process of implementing the Gold Standard (GS) project in Nepal. SAHAS Nepal is working with the rural communities where the clean and improved cooking stove (ICS)s are essential to improve the indoor air quality and reducing the drudgery of women. So, SAHAS Nepal supporting the ICS for a decade through its different project. To make the support more effective and link with climate change mitigation, Sahas Foundation was established according to the law of Nepal Government. The first phase of the GS is expected to start implementation from November 2019 since its Project Design Document (PDD) is in the approval process. Once this project is approved, an intensive number of ICS will be distributed to the communities following the PDD. As GS project provide profit to the Foundation, the profit will distribute to the community development activities through SAHAS Nepal. No profit will share with the individual members of the Foundation.

Partnership

Sahas Foundation would like to partner with the Clean Cooking Alliance for the implementation of the projects to contribute to reducing impacts of indoor air pollution by promoting the modern improved clean stoves and fuels such as biogas. We also like to make effective partnership in empowering women and youth of rural areas of Nepal for the social and economic development.
Our organization is well known for social mobilization, resources sharing and the sustainability of the projects using its community-based network organizations that could be useful to generate synergies in the partnership.
