To combat poverty and environmental degradation. SEM works to combat the “poverty taxâ€, the phenomenon whereby the poorest pay the most for basic services that are also proven to cause significant health problems and environmental degradation.

Clean Cooking Activities

SEM Fund has designed an efficient cookstove that is locally-made. This stove is made of sheet metal and incorporate the best design to ensure high thermal and energy efficiency.
SEM Fund is currently registering two CDM projects distributing improved cookstove in urban and rural Senegal.
We are finalizing a business plan to produce and distribute briquettes made from agricultural waste and Typha and invasive aquatic plant. Lastly, SEM Fund is setting up a distribution chain for solar lamps in rural and peri-urban Senegal.
