Clean Cooking Activities

Sustainable Green Fuel Enterprise (SGFE) is a small char-briquettes factory, who's char-briquettes are made of 100% recycled biomass, like coconut shells and char-residues. Today SGFE produces and sells locally over 10 metric tons of environmental friendly char-briquettes, to offer a sustainable alternative to the traditional unsustainable charcoal in Cambodia, and to offer at the same time socially fair and secure jobs. SGFE char-briquettes are 100% recycled biomass, have a longer burning time (higher fixed carbon content), they make no sparks (which can cause domestic fires), make no smoke (which cause respiratory diseases in indoor cooking) and come already in a small cut, easy to use size and shape.
SGFE has about 30 shops/retailers selling its products, about 10 regular restaurants/businesses using its char-briquettes and reaches in total about 250 end consumers (families). Today, with its monthly sales exceeding 10 tons, SGFE saves over 750 tons of wood, which is not cut from Cambodia's forests and reduces CO2 emissions for over 1,500 tons per year, and this figures are destined to grow together with SGFE’s business expansion.

Partnership

SGFE is willing to share its knowledge about char-briquettes production, market stimulation, distribution and sales. SGFE is willing to participate in events to give presentations about its business model, and disseminate results about its environmental and social impact .time its environmental and social impact.
