Mission

ThinkGreen.org is a community based organization with an initiative to introduce clean cooking methods with low emissions and efficient cooking to mostly urban population of the country, which is totally dependent on wood fire or LPG in some cases.
We are at very initial stages of developing a bio-cook stove and introduce biomass i.e biochar, wood pellets/briquettes in a cost effective way.

Clean Cooking Activities

We are at very initial stages of developing a bio-cook stove and introduce biomass i.e biochar, wood pellets/briquettes in cost effective way.
The prices of LPG and natural gas are very high and people can hardly afford to use this method of cooking. Moreover, the rural areas are facing energy crisis which is making lives difficult especially in the winter season when the demand for natural gas is very high. This is not only effecting the daily lives of ordinary households, but the lack of gas for industrial use is also putting adverse effects and unemployment is increasing day by day.
Pakistan as an agricultural country produces large amount of agricultural waste which can be used directly to produce bio-mass, bio-char, wood pellets/Briquettes etc.
We are introducing a cooking stove which will be of good quality, efficient and produces no smoke and emissions, moreover we would prefer to use recycled martial for the manufacturing this product.
Furthermore we are introducing cheap fuel options for the household usage which will include bio-mass, biochar, bio-gas wood pellets etc.
There has been very little or no efforts been done in this sector. This cost effective and energy efficient method will revolutionized the cook methods in Pakistan. According to the World Bank's data and statistics of 2011 total population of the country is 176.7 million where 64% is urban and 34% is rural. Average CO2 (kt) emissions 163178.
74% to total 770880 sq.km is used for agriculture which produces large amount of agricultural waste. The energy usage is (kg of oil equivalent per capita) 502.

We are looking for international and national partners to support and help us to introduce clean development mechanism in Pakistan.
