Unity Stoves

Mission

We at® Unity Stoves® are dedicated to making the best cookstoves in the world. We have successfully made prototypes of clean burning stoves using a uniquely developed ceramic like material. Our founder is an experienced Australian industrial designer. He has worked for 25 years making designs into manufacturable products.®

Technologies & Fuels

Biomass (Ag. Residue, Processed Biomass, etc.), Charcoal, Pellets / Briquettes

Other Technologies Fuels

Proprietary material and manufacturing technique to produce fiber reinforced ceramic like insulated stoves with hard wearing high density wearing surfaces. Manufacturing suitable for simple equipment and low set up costs.

Clean Cooking Activities

Our successfully prototyped design is the® Unity Stove.® It is a rocket style stove. The unique abilities of our material allow for a very high operating temperature in the® combustion chamber.® This combined with a low thermal conductivity and cast insulation ensures efficient operation, clean burning and direction of the the heat energy to the pot.

Our design has stripped the® Unity Stove® down to just one component*. Nothing to rivet. Nothing to screw together. Nothing to fall apart. One component manufactured in a clever but simple way.

The product is suited to local manufacture and does not require complex machinery.

The product is cast in simple molds to ensure repeatability.

The material is eco friendly and uses a high proportion of industrial byproduct as raw material.

At end of life stoves can be crushed and used as aggregate to make new stoves.

Partnership

Our business model is not only to promote the Unity stove as a finished product but to provide a system to assist the many researchers in the clean cookstove field with a method to manufacture prototype or low volume designs. Our unique manufacturing method allows stoves to have complex internal structures that would be difficult or impossible to fabricate with sheet metal stoves. A traditional ceramic stove requires a cycle time measured in weeks from shaping to drying to firing. An ipolymer stove can be cast one day and be burning and running tests the next day.

We need a partner to further the testing of Unity stove prototypes.

We wish to combine our manufacturing expertise with a marketing and distribution partner to produce a pilot based production facility.

We can assist researchers, designers and engineers to prototype their designs.
