Clean Cooking Activities

The palm oil industry in Ghana employs about 700,000 people making it an important sector of the Ghana economy. The forest covers of these processing communities are being heavily depleted because of the processors over-reliance of firewood as a source of fuel for the industry. We have designed a biomass cookstove that rely on waste (fiber, stalk, shell, etc.) from the palm oil production process to fuel the industry. We design, manufacture and install the biomass cookstove equipped with drying, air supply and chimney systems.

Partnership

The University of Ghana has expertise in several areas including research and development, education, engineering, and climate change issues. We intend to leverage our expertise in these and other areas to champion sustainable development issues in sub-saharan Africa in addition to offering training and consultancy services in our part of the world. Our experts are also available for continual learning and will avail themselves to the service of the Alliance whenever necessary.
