Women for Women International® works with socially excluded women in eight countries where war and conflict have devastated lives and communities. Each woman we serve has her own story–some of loved ones murdered, and others of physical and emotional trauma. Most have endured a struggle for survival. Women who enroll in our one-year program learn job skills and receive business training so they can earn a living. They come to understand their rights and how to fight for those rights in their homes, their communities and their nations. They learn how to become leaders. Women for Women International (WfWI) believes that lasting change can only be achieved when women have access to both knowledge and resources.

Clean Cooking Activities
WfWI is partnering with Solar Sister to support women entrepreneurs in Nigeria.® Clean cookstoves will be among the products they will sell.
Partnership
We are committed to empowering women survivors of conflict. Becoming a partner with The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves is one way in which we can strengthen this commitment. Teaching women to use clean cookstoves will® reduce the time she spends looking for fuel such as firewood; improve the quality of air she and her family breathe; and reduce fires due to kerosene stoves (a major killer of children). Additionally, we are considering training the women in our program how to sell cookstoves in their communities, thereby providing them with an income source, while also pushing their® communities towards cleaner and more efficient cooking solutions.®
