Clean Cooking Activities

The Improved Cook Stove initiative for Christian Aid Nigeria is aimed at improving the health status of poor and marginalised households through the adoption and use of improved cook stoves with specific objectives:
1. To improve access for poor and marginalised groups in project communities to improved cook stoves, at affordable prices, through tested friendly financing schemes.
2. To increase awareness and knowledge on the benefits of the use of improved cook stoves through provision of consistent, correct and relevant information in target communities.
3. To support the emergence of an active cook stoves market where cook stoves are easily available and at affordable prices, where women especially would have opportunities for setting up small business in cook stoves commercialization to support household livelihoods in poor communities.
4. To contribute to creating an enabling policy environment for ICS in Nigeria especially through standards and certification and enforcement of standards of practice.

Partnership

Christian Aid's partnership with the Alliance seeks to achieve and strengthen our objectives/ the reason why we do what we do in ICS, especially our objective on "contributing to creating an enabling policy environment for ICS in Nigeria especially through standards and certification and enforcement of standards of practice".
