Clean Cooking Activities

We are currently collaborating with Envirofit International under their PoA for Cameroon and Cote D'Ivoire to distribute efficient cook stoves in Bamenda. We are currently distributing 3,000 efficient cook stoves around Bamenda in the North West Region of Bamenda. CEFEMAC aims to distribute 200,000 efficient cook stoves over the next five years in Cameroon. Over 70% of the 20 Million people of Cameroon use fire wood as main source of energy for cooking. It is hoped that reduction in the reliance on firewood as a source of energy especially in the urban and semi-urban areas will relief surrounding depleted woodland from exploitation. CEFEMAC is currently working with boarding schools around the North West Region of Bamenda and is testing a model for the deployment of institutional cook stoves to curb extraordinarily high consumption of firewood.

Partnership

CEFEMAC hopes to collaborate with other organisations in field research, providing representative insight into tangible sustainable development benefits of the dissemination of efficient cook stoves via interdisciplinary research with national and international institutions.
