Through its award-winning reports and resource materials and targeted activities, CEP strengthens the scientific basis of policies, advocacy, and public outreach to achieve women's and girls' empowerment, and a long-term, sustainable balance between people and the natural environment worldwide. CEP partners with leading experts and organizations to link science, policy, advocacy and public education, to better understand and effectively address the issues.
Partnership
CEP would like to partner with the Alliance in two ways: 1) increase awareness among targeted US/UN public, policymakers, government and non-government "influentials" and the media, on how the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves contributes significantly to women's empowerment and their health and environmental sustainability, and reduces/helps to mitigate and adapt to climate change and energy efficiency, and; 2) Empowering the global south voices involved in the Alliances' work to bridge the gap between global south leaders/grassroots women using cookstoves and the US and UN leadership, "influentials" by raising awareness of in-country efforts and by finding them a significant place and role in targeted international forums (i.e. UNFCCC, Rio 20, MDG, etc.), deliberations and actions.
