Mission
Inyenyeri - A Rwandan Social Benefit Company strives to prove a solution to the problems caused by traditional cooking methods in Rwanda and replicate that solution across sub-Saharan Africa. Inyenyeri distributes gasifying cookstoves free of charge and locally produces fuel pellets using crowdsourced biomass. Inyenyeri sustains itself through the sale of fuel pellets at a rate that undercuts competitors' prices. Through this fuel-side approach, Inyenyeri ensures that even the poorest households have access to clean cooking fuel.

Clean Cooking Activities
Inyenyeri completed a pilot phase mid-2012, successfully introducing gasifying cook stoves to 50 households, producing fuel pellets out of crowdsourced raw biomass, and selling or exchanging fuel pellets to pilot households. Inyenyeri is now ready to prove profitability, scale to over 3,000 households by the end of 2012, and expand to over 33,000 households by the end of 2013.

Inyenyeri would like to participate in the Partnership as a fuel producer and supplier that is on the cutting edge of a new fuel-based business model which can subsidize the cost of clean cookstoves.
