Rocky Dawuni

Grammy-nominated Musician and Humanitarian Advocate

Ghanaian international music star and creative activist, Rocky Dawuni, joined CCA as an Ambassador in September 2012. After learning that cooking kills four million people worldwide every year, Dawuni leaped at the chance to work with CCA and champion this issue in his home country and abroad.

A native of Ghana, Rocky Dawuni has a vested interest in this issue. In Ghana, more than 87 percent of the population is impacted by household air pollution every day and widespread deforestation has occurred as a result of the need for wood for cooking. In his role, Dawuni will help spread awareness about the dangers associated with preparing daily meals in the developing world.

Throughout his career, Dawuni has demonstrated his commitment to social justice and gender equality through his involvement with issues related to the health and economic advancement of women and children. By connecting with people through his words, Dawuni will help CCA reach its goal of achieving universal access to clean cooking by 2030.
