About the Series

As part of its 10-year anniversary celebration, CCA launched a number of new initiatives, including the Conversation on Clean Cooking series, which kicked off with former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Read more about the series and view recordings from the events below.


A Conversation on Clean Cooking

On July 20, 2021, CCA CEO Dymphna van der Lans moderated A Conversation on Clean Cooking between former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and CCA Leadership Council member Wanjira Mathai of the World Resources Institute.

The virtual discussion showcased widespread progress on clean cooking over the past decade and highlighted the need for increased investment and global support on the road to 2030.

A Conversation on Clean Cooking, Women, and Trade

Co-hosted by the World Trade Organization and moderated by CCA CEO Dymphna van der Lans, A Conversation on Clean Cooking, Women, and Trade kicked off CCA’s “Week of Clean Cooking” and featured a panel of high-level experts, including WTO Deputy-Director General Jean-Marie Paugam.

The second in CCA’s Conversation on Clean Cooking series took place on October 15, 2021, and focused on the critical role of women in accelerating progress towards achieving universal access to clean cooking and the importance of engaging the trade community in establishing an inclusive, enabling environment to support a robust and sustainable clean cooking industry.

A Conversation on Clean Cooking: Women Leading the Way

Held as part of the “Week of Clean Cooking” plenary on October 19, 2021, the third in CCA’s Conversation on Clean Cooking series featured CCA’s Dymphna van der Lans, SEforALL’s Damilola Ogunbiyi, WHO’s Maria Neira, ARM-Harith Infrastructure Investment’s Tariye Gbadegesin, and The Energy Nexus Network’s Kandeh Yumkella in dialogue around women leading the clean cooking agenda.

A Conversation on Clean Cooking: COP28

Held during COP28, November 2023, the fourth in CCA’s Conversation on Clean Cooking series featured CCA’s Dymphna van der Lans, Second Lady of Ghana H.E. Samira Bawumia, and US EPA’s Administrator Michael Regan, in dialogue around national leadership to reach clean cooking targets.
