Advancing Renewables-based Clean Cooking Solutions
The SDG 7 target on achieving universal access to clean cooking fuels and technologies remains elusive. Over the next decades, the world will need to accelerate its shift to renewables-based clean cooking solutions aligned with the 2030 Agenda. To facilitate knowledge sharing on scaling up adoption, IRENA is organizing a series of virtual knowledge exchange webinars in partnership with leading institutions focusing on different solutions, including bioethanol, biodigesters, and electric cooking.
The fourth solution deep-dive session is being co-organized with Practical Action focusing on solid biomass. The session will discuss the current landscape of solutions and the role of solid biomass fuels, as part of a broader clean cooking strategy, to achieve universal clean cooking access. It will also discuss enabling conditions needed to facilitate adoption and build sustainable markets and supply chains for such solutions.
