Decentralised Renewable Energy Solutions for Advancing Clean Cooking
Progress on the SDG 7 target to reach universal access to clean cooking fuels and technologies has been starkly insufficient. It is becoming increasingly clear that without an order of magnitude shift in commitments and actions, billions of people will remain without access by 2030. This has a continuing human, economic and environmental cost, disproportionately impacting women and children, and impedes global ambitions for a just and inclusive energy transition.
This session will convene representatives from government, civil society, financing institutions and the wider clean cooking sector to share lessons learnt and discuss what actions need to be taken to accelerate the use of renewables for tackling the clean cooking access challenge at the scale necessary to achieve SDG 7 by 2030.
