Interlinkages between SDG5 and SDG7 – Closing gender data gaps to inform energy decision making

ENERGIA is delighted to announce our participation at this year’s High Level Political Forum, which will convene under the theme “Building back better from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) while advancing the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” This landmark event will do an in-depth review of Sustainable Development Goals 4 on quality education, 5 on gender equality, 14 on life below water, 15 on life on land, and 17 on partnerships for the Goals. It will also  offer a unique opportunity to discuss how gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls can contribute to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda.

In this context, ENERGIA, UNDESA and UNIDO are pleased to invite you to the side event “Interlinkages between SDG5 and SDG7: Closing gender data gaps to inform energy decision making” taking place on July 11, 2022 (10:00 – 11:30 am EST | 4:00  – 5:30 pm CEST).

The event will raise awareness on the need of sex disaggregated data and gender statistics for evidence-based decision-making in the energy sector. It will showcase initiatives and efforts that are working to collect and expand data on gender and energy, with a focus on how to establish a framework for tracking progress on the interlinkages between SDG7 and SDG5 and for the Gender and Energy Compact.
