TEDx Talk on Cookstoves and Standards
Ranyee Chiang, the Alliance's Director of Standards, Technology and Fuels, will be speaking at the TEDx event “Transforming Lives” in Geneva on February 11th. This event will showcase remarkable stories of scientists and peacemakers, innovators and humanitarians transforming lives of people around the globe and finding solutions to shaping tomorrow's world.
Ranyee’s talk will introduce the audience to the environmental, health, and social impacts of cooking with open fires and traditional stoves. This talk will also cover the challenges for making new cookstove technology work in a multitude of settings, the opportunity, the work that has been done, how standards address the issue, and the way forward.
