Unlocking Her Time: Clean Cooking Solutions to Empower Rural Women
Please join the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, UN Women DRC, and DFID for an official NGO CSW parallel event, featuring a panel discusssion on: Unlocking Her Time: Clean Cooking Solutions to Empower Rural Women.
The event will take place during the 62nd Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). This year’s CSW will address challenges and opportunities in achieving gender equality and the empowerment of rural women and girls. Chief among these issues is the time poverty that women experience because of the disproportionate share of unpaid care work that falls upon them.
The goal of this event is to increase the prioritization of access to clean and efficient cookstoves and fuels as a means of addressing time poverty and gender inequality. This session will bring together high-level experts to examine how time-saving clean cooking solutions can unlock women’s economic potential and drive gender equality for women and girls. The event will examine opportunities for mainstreaming clean cooking solutions into women’s empowerment and poverty alleviation programs to maximize impact.
Date/Time: Thursday – March 15th, 2018 from 8:30AM – 10:00AM
