Unveiling Gender-based Violence in the Context of Environmental Degradation and Climate Change: The Role of Data and Storytelling

Gender-based violence happens within environment sectors and issues and it is exacerbated due to environmental degradation, deforestation, pollution and climate impacts, as described in IUCN-USAID study Gender-based Violence and Environment Linkages: The Violence of Inequality. However, evidence of these correlations is not always available or being systematically collected.

Join us in this webinar to learn about the power of data and storytelling in raising awareness of the impacts of environmental degradation and climate change on gender-based violence prevalence. Speakers will present on current efforts in collecting this data; the role of data in informing environmental and gender-based violence programming; and how both data and storytelling can play a key role in shaping national and international policies.
